New Camera!

I'm so excited! I should be receiving my new Nikon D300 body Tuesday! I'll be making my D80 body a backup and a second lens camera at events and weddings. More camera's to cover your wedding or event. How awesome is that!

Photo Wild

I am now registered for the Carolina Raptor Center's 'Photo Wild' photo contest to be held on March 29. I'm really excited! They host this contest anually and I have wanted to enter in it for the past few years. The way it works is they will bring a few birds out at a time and give the photographers so many minutes to photograph them. After you have photographed all the birds that are scheduled to be displayed for the contest, you go home edit your photos and select 3 to enter into a number of catagories. In May, there will be gathering to announce the winners and to auction off the printed photos with proceeds going to fund the raptor center. I visted the raptor center for the first time with my fiance this past fall. I really enjoyed the birds and the facility. Here's a few pictures of Charlie, my buddy's German Shepard pup. Yes I said puppy. He's only 3 month's old but he's getting big fast. He's got a personality of his own as you can see in the photos. Enjoy!

Test photos from my DIY ringlight

Here's a few test shots I did a few weeks ago with my new DIY ringlight. I love the lighting affect this light has. Can you see how evenly the face is lit and the ring catch light in the eyes?
