Photo Walk - Salisbury Style

Here' one of me with a some killer light.

A few weeks ago, a good friend of mine, Stephen, who is also the wedding photographer for Cari and I, went on an awesome photo walk through Salisbury and Spencer NC. We had a great time capturing some awesome textures and practiced some killer portrait lighting techniques. I've posted a collage and a fine art print from the shoot. I'll be posting a lot more photo walk images through out the year, so check the blog often for recent weddings, engagements, and more!

Aquesta Bank Cornelius, NC

Here's a dusk shot of the Aquesta Bank in Cornelius, NC. Construction of this bank was completed over the summer of 2008. I often ride by the bank near sunset and when the sun gets to a certain level, it reflects amazing warm light off the windows. Unfortunately, I didn't make it in time to capture the reflection of the sunset but I was able to capture a near dusk image with some light from the automobiles in the foreground. I love the architecture of this bank.

Christmas Lights At Phillip Morris

Here's a shot of the Phillip Morris Christmas lights that I was able to get on Saturday Dec. 27 before the security officer drove up and said that I had to leave. This was such an awesome night for a shot like this because it had been raining earlier which allowed the street to reflect the light and the heavy fog made the blue lights really glow.

Cole and Carlie

Here's a few photos from a recent awesome on-location session with the sibling duo of Cole and Carlie. Carlie just turned the big 8 and recently got a new puppy and is very happy about that as you can tell in the photos. Cole loves to hunt, so I really tried to capture him in his element. It was very cold out but Cole and Carlie were real troopers! Enjoy the photos!

The Sutton's

Here's a few photos from a super fun time we had with the Sutton's at one of their favorite parks. You can really tell these guys like to have fun together. We even captured their special family group kiss. Enjoy the photos!

Nelson Family

I've gotten a little behind with my blogging lately, so over the next few days I'll be blogging a few recent fall family sessions. Around the first of November we had a blast with the Nelson's. We decided to do the shoot around the campus of Davidson College. What a beautiful campus and an awesome little town. Our session was very relaxed and laid back. We laughed so much, that I would have to pull the camera away and get back into photographer mode. Enjoy.

Blue Ridge Parkway, Day Trip

Cari and I spent an incredable time driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway on the 19th of October. The foliage was just awesome. We started on the BRP around Blowing Rock and continued down, stoping at a few places for hiking and pictures. The two main areas that I wanted photograph were the Linn Cove Viaduct, and Crabtree Falls. Crabtree Falls was our last stop for the day and we just did make in time to have enough daylight left for some killer shots of Crabtree Falls. I've posted some of my favorites from our little photo journey below. Enjoy!
